Over fifty ARCS members and guests attended the ARCS Atlanta Annual Meeting and Luncheon held on May 7, 2025, at Ansley Golf Club. Our speakers were Dr. Jon P. Mochel, Professor of Systems Pharmacology and Founding Director of Precision One Health Initiative at UGA, and Dr. Christopher Zdyrski, Research Professional of Precision One Health. Dr. Mochel and Dr. Zdyrski gave a fascinating presentation titled “Transforming Life for Man and Man’s Best Friend” on research to develop personalized healthcare strategies that provide individuals with the most effective treatment options at the right time. The mission of Precision One Health is centered on personalized medicine, which includes risk assessment, exploration of significant biological mutations, vaccine and drug development, and the selection of customized therapies based on molecular profiling.
A highlight of the ARCS Board Meeting was the passing of the gavel from our wonderful 2023-2025 ARCS Atlanta President Carolynn Cooper to our incoming President Frances Swensson. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our ARCS Atlanta Founding President Mary O’Connor back to Atlanta from Washington, D.C.
